Christina Maretzo and St. Jacob Diodonet were named the Spartan Athletes of the Month for January. 

Christina Maretzo, Women's Indoor Track & Field:

Maretzo took part in an array of events on the track during the month of January, as she placed second in both the 4x400 Meter Relay (4:15.78) and the 800 Meter Run (2:23.40) at the Wagner College Invitational on January 4th, and then took a second place finish in the 4x800 Meter Relay (10:09.11), a seventh place finish in the 800 Meter Run (2:23.05) and finished thirteenth in the 4x400 Meter Relay in a time of 4:27.48 at the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartan Invitational on January 11th.

The sophomore mid-distance runner from Tuxedo, NY continued her busy season at the NYC Gotham Cup on January 18th, as Christina finished second in the 1000 Meter Run in a time of 3:04.62 and a seventh place finish in the 4x800 Meter Relay (10:19.50). She then closed out the first month of 2019 with a fifth place finish in the 4x800 Meter Relay (9:42.64) and ninth in the Distance Medley Relay (12:43.70) at the Boston University Terrier Classic on January 25th & 26th.
