Christina Maretzo and St. Jacob Diodonet were named the Spartan Athletes of the Month for January. 

St. Jacob Diodonet, Men's Indoor Track & Field:

Diodonet had a very busy month of January, as he placed first in the 4x400 Meter Relay (3:24.70) and second in the 800 Meter Run (1:59.07) at the Wagner College Invitational on January 4th, and then took a first place finish in the 400 Meter Dash (48.19) and second place in the 4x200 Meter Relay (1:29.14) at the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartan Invitational on January 11th.

The senior sprinter from West Milford, NJ continued his final season at the College of New Jersey Lions Indoor Invitational on January 12th, as Saint finished second in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 47.76. He then closed out the first month of 2019 with a fifth place finish in the 500 Meter Dash at the Boston University Terrier Classic on January 25th & 26th.

As a result of his outstanding body of work on the track, Diodonet currently ranks 9th among all of Division II Track athletes in the 400 Meter Dash, and has been recognized by the East Coast Conference twice in the month of January (1/14 & 1/28) for his outstanding season to date.
