Junior first baseman Kenny Kirshner has been named the East Coast Conference Player of the Week.  He is joined by freshman Robert Naughton who was tabbed Rookie of the week.  Their strong play contributed to the Spartans 7-0 week.

Kirshner has been one of the standouts in the string that has seen the Spartans win nine straight and 15-of-16, including a 7-0 week. The junior went 14-of-31 for the week for a .452 batting average, scoring eight runs, driving in nine and stealing four bases in the process. With his five doubles, Kirshner had a .613 slugging percentage for the week.

Naughton ran his season record to a perfect 5-0 with a seven-inning, complete game shutout in a 4-0 win over Queens. The freshman scattered five hits, walking one and striking out one while throwing just 76 pitches. STAC has won nine of the 10 games in which Rob has appeared this season, and he lowered his season ERA to 1.63.
