The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team fell to a 16-4 defeat in a non-conference contest at Bloomsburg University. The Spartans have now dropped four straight and stand at 9-12 overall while Bloomsburg improves to 11-6 on the season.

After leaving the bases loaded in the first, the Spartans broke on top with a three-run second inning as ECC Rookie of the Week Andrew Jemison doubled in two runs and came in to score on an Angelo Baez single. Things went downhill from there as the Huskies required just three hits to score eight runs in the bottom half, aided by a pair of STAC errors, five walks, a hit batter, and a walk.

Bloomsburg tacked on two runs in both the third and fourth innings to open a 12-3 gap, and the Spartans answered with one in the fifth when Brian Donnelly's groundout scored Baez. Any thought of a comeback as short-lived, however, as the Huskies added four in the sixth on an Andrew Holmes grand slam to close out the scoring.

Jemison and Baez had two hits each for STAC, and Tyler Patane started and took the loss, while Jared Marshman tossed six innings to earn the win for Bloomsburg.

The Spartans return to action with an East Coast Conference series against LIU Post, with single games on Long Island on Friday and Sunday, and a home twin-bill on Saturday, March 30, with first pitch set for 1:00 pm.
