The St. Thomas Aquinas College baseball team won its eighth game in the last 10 overall, grabbing an 11-6 victory in a non-conference game against Felician University at Lyndhurst Recreation Complex. STAC gets back to the .500 mark after losing its first six straight to stand at 8-8 overall, with Felician sliding to 6-12.

Runs were plentiful in the early going with each team pushing across a pair in the first inning. Andrew Jemison led off with a ground rule double and Angelo Baez stroked an RBI single to get the Spartans on the board. Tyler Patane eventually brought Baez in on a groundout but the lead was short-lived as Danny Healy tripled home one and scored to tie the contest at 2-2.

Six walks and a pair of hits led to a 5-run second inning explosion for STAC, with Jemison and Brian Donnelly keying the rally with RBI hits to make the tally 7-2. Spartans starter Aaron Dona left the game in the second inning due to injury, but the bullpen-by-committee came through as Jack Wilde, Chris Allegretti, and John Greeley allowed just a third-inning run as the margin remained at 7-3 through five innings.

STAC tacked on a pair in the visiting sixth as Anthony Maisano plated one on a fielder's choice and came in to score on a throwing error after stealing third, making the gap 9-3. Two more in the seventh gave the Spartans an 11-3 gap as Jemison recorded his third hit of the day - a leadoff double, scored on a Baez triple, and Baez sprinted home on a foulout.

An eighth-inning string of wildness by reliever Darnell Chandler loaded the bases on walks with one out and the Golden Falcons pushed across three runs to narrow the deficit to 11-6, but TJ Gregory continued his strong start, coming on to avoid further damage. Reyan Mustafaski came on as the 10th STAC pitcher of the game, tossing a 1-2-3 scoreless ninth to secure the triumph. Jemison's three hits led the 10-hit attack for STAC, while Greeley was credited with the win on the strength of his three shutout innings of 2-hit ball.

The Spartans finally get their chance to play at Palisades Credit Union Park, starting with Thursday's Home Opener against the College of Saint Rose in a 3:30 start. They then begin their East Coast Conference schedule with a four-game series against the University of Bridgeport, with home games Friday at 3:30 and Sunday at 2:00. The series shifts to Connecticut for the middle two games, a noon twin-bill on Saturday.
