STAC Baseball Records 4-Game Series Sweep with 8-3 & 11-9 Triumphs At Felician

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team closed out a 4-game series sweep of Felician University on Sunday afternoon, as the Spartans took a pair of victories from the Falcons, 8-3 and 11-9 at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex in New Jersey.

James Versage led the Spartan hit parade with 6 hits, including a double and a homer, 4 RBI and 3 runs scored on the day. Anthony Maisano (5 hits), Brian Donnelly (4 hits), Danny Di Marzo and Matt Johnson (3 hits each) and Sean Lynch and Andrew Jemison (2 hits each), with Donnelly posting 3 RBI, Di Marzo 2 RBI and Maisano 2 RBI.

STAC pitchers Yanni Orfanidis and Reyan Mustafoski both picked wins on the mound. Orfanidis allowed 2 hits. 1 run (1 earned) and 1 walk in 2.1 innings in Game 1, in relief of starter Alex Mack who struck out nine over 6 2/3 innings, while allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs. In game 2, Mustafoski surrendered 3 hits and 1 run (1 earned) over 4.0 innings, while walking 4 and fanning 5. TJ Gregory earned his first save of 2021 getting the final two Felician batters of the game.
