Stroudsburg, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team suffered a three-game series sweep and it's sixth straight loss on Sunday, as East Stroudsburg University took a 10-1 decision from the Spartans at Creekview Park in the Keystone State.

STAC slips to 9-12 overall, while ESU improves to 19-3 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Btm 1st Inning - Jack Rothenhausler singled, advancing Cameron Hubbard to second base, while scoring both Shanley Wall and Mike Kelly. 2-0 ESU

Btm 1st Inning - Jack Rothenhausler stole second base, as Cameron Hubbard scored on the throw. 3-0 ESU

Btm 1st Inning - Chaise Albus singled, plating both Parker Frey and Jack Rothenhausler. 5-0 ESU

Btm 1st Inning - Walker Zampella singled, scoring Chaise Albus 6-0 ESU

Btm 2nd Inning - Walker Zampella grounded out to pitcher, with Parker Frey coming to plate. 7-0 ESU

Top 3rd Inning - Gregory DiGiaro singled through the left side, advancing Joseph Scamardella to second base and scoring David Potenza. 7-1 ESU

Btm 4th Inning - Walker Zampella flied out to left field on a sacrifice fly, with Parker Frey advanceding to second base and then third base on a throwing error by left fielder, with Jack Rothenhausler scoring an unearned run. 8-1 ESU

Btm 7th Inning - Jack Rothenhausler flied out to right field on a sacrifice fly, with Tim Haverstick advancing to second base; Shanley Wall advancing to third base and Mike Kelly coming home. 9-1 ESU

Btm 8th Inning - Tanner Vicendese singled, scoring Jack Mathis. 10-1 ESU

STAC PERFORMANCES:

  • Gregory DiGiaro went 1-for-3 on the day, with an RBI.
  • David Potenza stroked a hit in three at-bats with a run scored for the Spartans.
  • STAC also received hits from C.J. Cumbo (1-for-4), Sean Lynch (1-for-3) and Tyler Haydt (1-for-1).
  • Andrew Schoelles (2-2) got the start for the Spartans and lasted only seven batters, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits, while walking one.
  • John Dezago, Anthony Holtje, Jake Halloran and Lorent Hoti were asked to come on and steady the ship for the maroon and gold. The quartet combined to allow eight hits and four runs (three earned) while walking seven and fanning seven over eight innings.

  • The Spartans totaled 1 run on 5 hits, with 4 errors, while East Stroudsburg earned 10 runs on 13 hits, with no errors.
