STAC Baseball Closes Home Schedule With 17-4 Loss To Dominican

Pomona, N.Y. - Playing its final home game of the 2024 season on Wednesday, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team wound up on the wrong side of a 17-4 non-conference defeat at the hands of crosstown rivals Dominican University.

STAC slips to 19-25 overall, while Dominican ends its season on a high note at 16-33, and sweeps the two-game regular season series from the Spartans.

Top 1st Inning - Jake Chaisongkran walked with the bases loaded, with Alexander Reyes advancing to second base, Davin Keddell-Tuckey advancing to third base and David Knepper coming to the plate. 1-0 DUNY

Top 1st Inning - Jean Nunez reached on a fielder's choice and advanced to second on a throwing error by second baseman, with Jake Chaisongkram being called out at second base on a throw from the third baseman to the second baseman, Alexander Reyes scoring an unearned run on the error and Davin Keddell-Tuckey also coming home. 3-0 DUNY

  • STAC also received a multi-hit games from Jordan Babbo, who had two hits in four at-bats, and Kyle DeCresce, who went 2-for-5, with 2 RBI.
  • Colin Ross (1-for-1, 2B), Ben Moscatiello (1-for-2) and Ryan Appell (1-for-3) also added to the hit totals for the Spartans.
  • Will Kindl got the start for STAC in the home finale and threw an inning and a third, allowing seven runs (three earned) on five hits, while walking two. Kindl was charged with the loss and falls to 0-2 on the year.
  • Eric Volpi, Jalen Grant, Jason Basilicata, Ryan Callaghan, Lorent Hoti and Andrew Speranza combined to the final seven and two-thirds innings in relief. The six Spartans surrendered 10 hits and 10 runs (eight earned), while walking 12 and fanning 10.
