St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball Pitcher Andrew Schoelles was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans four-game Tar Heel State road trip, where the maroon and gold went 2-2 against Wilmington (Del.), Mansfield and Slippery Rock.
Schoelles (Bayside, N.Y.) was sensational on the mound for the Spartans in a 10-0 victory over Slippery Rock on Sunday in North Carolina. The freshman right-hander threw a complete game shutout while only allowing four hits and two walks. He also struck out five batters.
STAC (5-3) heads to New England for a four-game weekend series with Southern New Hampshire University on Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10. All games in the series will be played at Salem State University in Salem, Massachusetts.
