Spartan Esports Opens 2021 Spring Season with Top FIFA 21 & NBA 2K21 Performances

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Esports team recently opened their 2021 spring online gaming season with several high level performances by the Spartan FIFA 21 and NBA 2K21 squads, competing against other top programs in the ECAC.

STAC’s two FIFA 21 teams collected wins on Monday night. Juniors Zachary Rzewnicki and Antonio Vendola won their series matchups and added another win to their season totals. Both players sit in the top third of the standings and are one game out of first place.

On Tuesday, the Spartans NBA 2K21 teams split with a 1-1 record. Sophmore Dyson Hardwick won his matchup in convincing fashion, 2-0. Sophmore Caleb Franco battled to a third game with a top of the table team, but came up just short. Both STAC teams are in the top half of the leader board and look to continue their success as the season continues.

St. Thomas Aquinas continues ECAC league play in both FIFA 21 and NBA 2K21 through the month of March, followed by a brief 10-day pause, before postseason play opens up on April 5 and runs until April 29.
