Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Esports team kicked off its 2023-2024 East Coast Conference schedule on Wednesday evening by posting a 2-0 Super Smash Bros. shutout over St. Joseph's University (LI) from the friendly confines of the Spartans Esports Center on the Sparkill Campus.

Senior Joseph Murphy led the way for the maroon and gold with an opening round victory and two additional close matches. Fellow teammates Nicholas Shalaba, Dominic Colleluore and Daniel Pawlowski also made significant contributions to the STAC victory.

The Spartans will next take on Utica College on Wednesday, October 11.
