Spartan Field Hockey Picks Up 2-1 Victory Over Western Connecticut

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's field hockey team picked up their 6th win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Western Connecticut State University. Arielle Rodriguez and Jacqueline Dowling each scored for the Spartans.

Rodriguez goal was unassisted and gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead.  The home team was able to tie things up with a goal from Kimberly Brower.  Both teams were even at the break with Western Connecticut holding a 5-3 shots advantage as well as a 7 to 2 in penalty corners.  Dowling provided what eneded up being the game winning goal off an assist from Jade Hall.  Suzanne Clarke recorded six saves in the win.

The Spartans will return to action on Friday when they host Converse for a 4:00 p.m. game.  Friday's game will be senior day honoring STAC's two seniors; Elizabeth Cazzari and Brianna Jones.
