Women's Field Hockey Scores 3-0 Shutout Victory At King's College

The St. Thomas Aquinas Field Hockey team shutout King's College (PA), 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. Briannah Thorne, Jacqueline Dowling and Alexandra Vippolis all tallied for the Spartans en route to victory.

Thorne's team leading sixth goal of the season came almost five minutes into the game to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. Dowling netted her fourth of the 2018 campaign at just about the midway point of the first half on a great feed by her teammate Thorne. Vippolis closed out the scoring for both the half and the game by sending her shot to the back of Monarch net, for her first of the season with about five minutes to go in the opening stanza.

Suzanne Clarke recorded five saves in the victory to run her season record to 3-7. STAC maintained a 13-6 shots advantage, while King's held a 7-1 margin on penalty corners.

The Spartans will return to action on Monday, October 1st, when they take on LIU Post in Brookville. Opening draw is set for 4pm.
