Spartans Pick Up First Win of the Season at AIC, 1-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas field hockey team beat American International College, 1-0 on Saturday afternoon. Briannah Thorne scored off a goal from Jacqueline Dowling to lead the Spartans to victory.

Thorne's goal came 16 minutes into the game to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead that held on for the duration of the game.  Suzanne Clarke recorded three saves in the victory.  Jessica Stone had four saves in the loss for the Yellow Jackets.  The Spartans lead 12-8 in shots on goal while the Yellow Jackets held a 6-4 advantage in penalty shots.  

The Spartans will play Slippery Rock on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for their third consecutive game.
