Field Hockey Falls to Assumption, 5-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas Field Hockey team lost to Assumption College, 5-0 in a Northeast-10 Conference rematch on Sunday at Spartan Field in Sparkill, NY. The two squads played each other this past Wednesday in Worcester, Mass., with the Greyhounds taking the 4-2 result over the Spartans.

Assumption had four different goal scorers in the match, with Isabel Primack picking up two goals on the afternoon, while Kileigh Hynes, Summer Walsh and Deirdre Burchill each tallied for the visiting Greyhounds.

Spartan keeper Suzanne Clarke (L, 2-5) made 6 stops on the day and Jessie Hohenstein made 1 save, while their counterpart in the Assumption goal, Kylie Gargiulo (W, 4-1) went the distance and made 5 saves.

The visiting Greyhounds held a slight 14-9 shots advantage and an 11-6 edge in penalty corners for the game.

STAC (3-5) next heads to Rindge, New Hampshire for a 4pm matchup with the Franklin Pierce University Ravens on Tuesday, October 1st.
