Spartan Recruit Report: Field Hockey Announces Incoming Class for 2020-2021 Season

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Field Hockey team welcomes seven talented athletes to the Spartan Family beginning this September. STAC is coming off a spectacular first season in the Northeast-10 Conference in 2019-2020, which saw the squad amass a 10-10 overall record and a 7-7 NE10 mark. The team earned their first postseason tournament berth and a Quarterfinal round victory over Adelphi University 2-1 in double overtime. The Spartans graduated five incredibly talented seniors; Kaitlyn Gutenberger, Meaghan Burke, Briannah Thorne, Kerry Conlon and Taylor Hickey this past May.

"We are thrilled to have seven hard working and dedicated recruits joining us this fall. All of our recruits will have an huge impact on our team's success in the 2020-2021 season. The coaching staff is looking forward to getting the team together and having a stellar year!", commented Head Coach Genesis Pacheco.

 

Here is a look at the future STAC Class of 2024 alphabetically. 

 

Adriana Alfisi

Adriana Alfisi: Forward/Midfield, Norwalk High School

"Adriana is an excellent passer and play maker and is really dangerous in the circle with her quick hands. She will be a key player for us", said Coach Pacheco

 

Olivia Cerbo

Olivia Cerbo: Center Midfield, Middletown High School North

"Olivia is a strong midfielder always looking for creative ways to get the ball to her teammates. She is going to a force to be reckoned with! Olivia is also a member of the Stac Lax program", commented Coach Pacheco

 

Sofia Corominas

Sofia Corominas: Defense, Barcelona, Spain

"We are thrilled to welcome Sofia from Barcelona. A strong defender with the strength and the ability to attack is going to be solid for our teams success in the upcoming seasons", remarked Coach Pacheco

 

Hailey Galison

Hailey Galison: Defense, Seaford High School

"Hailey is a versatile player; she can play wherever you need! Hailey's passion for the game as well as her ability to make smart plays will help contribute to the team success of the next few years. Hailey will also be a two sport athlete at STAC, as she will be a member Women’s Bowling Team", said Coach Pacheco

 

Isabella O'Hara

Isabella O'Hara: Forward, Clarkstown South High School

"Isabella's scoring ability and knowledge of the game is going to help carry the team! We are excited to have her on our offensive side creating scoring opportunities for us!", commented Coach Pacheco

 

Jillian Ryan

Jillian Ryan: Forward, Albertus Magnus High School

"Jillian's work ethic, positive attitude and character is everything you look for in an athlete! She is a complete package! She will great energy to the team!", remarked Coach Pacheco

 

Carlee Sherman

Carlee Sherman: Defense/Midfield, Pine Bush High School/Keystone College

"Carlee is fierce, her ability to move the ball around the field is impressive. She is going to be an impact player for us as we move forward!", said Coach Pacheco
