Field Hockey Shutout at Bloomsburg, 3-0

Bloomsburg, Pa. - Playing the second half of back-to-back games in as many days, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Field Hockey team suffered a 3-0 shutout loss to Bloomsburg University on Monday afternoon at Steph Pettit Stadium.

STAC falls to 0-6 on the year, while the Huskies remain perfect at 7-0.

Bloomsburg outshot St. Thomas Aquinas 19-7, with the hosts ahead 12-0 in shots on goal. Sam Schaffer, Aydan McFarland and Bella Culp tallied goals for the Huskies in the contest.

Nicola Van Vuuren led the STAC offensive opportunities, tallying five shots of her own, with three being blocked by defenders and two going wide of the cage. Bloomsburg goalie Jackie Nevel (W, 7-0) saw no official shots on net and cruised to her seventh win of the season.

Carlijn De Groot (L, 0-6) got the start in the cage for the Spartans stopped 9 of 12 shots faced on the day.
