St. Thomas Aquinas golfers; John Casey, Chris Fitzpatrick and Mike Gunderson were all named to the Division II Ping All East Region Team announced on Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.  The three were among 104 players across eight regions recognized.

The Spartans are coming off one of their best seasons being ranked #1 in the East Region and winning the NCAA Super Regionals to advance to the NCAA Championships for the third consecutive year.  Fitzpatrick led the Spartans, ranked 2nd in the Region for most of the season with a scoring average of 74.  Gunderson and Casey were also among the top player in the region all season with scoring averages of 76. 

The Spartans finished in 17th place in the NCAA Championships held at The Shoals Fighting Joe Course in North Alabama.  The lone senior of the group, Fitzpatrick shot a team low score of 225 in the Championship, finishing tied for 32nd place.
