The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team finished tied for third place after the opening round of the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional.  Brendan Hunter led the Spartans with a team low 71 for a first round of even par.  STAC Finished the day 7-strokes of the leader, LeMoyne College and 1-stroke off the second place team, University of Charleston. 

The Spartans ended the day in a three way tie with Wilmington, (DE) and Adelphi University after shooting a team score of 293.  Niklas Koerner carded a 1-over 72, including an eagle on a 510 yard par 5.  Thomas Linehan and Kai Rastetter shot 2-over on both the front and the back for a round of 75 each.  

STAC will return to action on Tuesday afternoon as they try to stay within the top five spots. The top five teams will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship.  For live scoring of Tuesday's round, click here.
