Spartan Golf Takes 2nd at Battle at the Beach

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's golf team finished in 2nd place at the Battle at the Beach tournament hosted by Tiffin University at Murrells Inlet, SC.  Kevin Gately tied for second place overall falling one stroke behind the leader with a two day score of 147.  Chris Gentle and Kai Rastetter were also among the top of the leader board tying for 9th overall with scores of 151.  

Gately finished round one alone in the lead carding a 73 and the Spartans took 2nd with a team score of 306.  Gately's 74 on day two dropped him one spot behind top finisher, Graham McAree from University of Indianapolis.  

Rastetter and Gentle carded scored of 74, 77 to help pace the Spartans while Colby Lewis finished among the top third with a two day score of 157.  Lewis carded a 76 on day two as the Spartans as a whole dropped 7 strokes in their final round to solidfy their second place finish.  

STAC will return to action on March 29th at the Buccaneer Invitational at Normandy Shores Golf Course, hosted by Barry University.
