Fay, Kukaj & Yarmolowitz Earn Ping Golf All-Region Honors

Division II PING All-Region honorees have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). Over 100 players across eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central and West - earned all-region honors for 2019.

Spartans Travis Fay, Shkelqim Kukaj and Jake Yarmolowitz were selected to the East Region Team.  The trio contributed to another strong year for the Spartans, including the program's 17th consecutive appearance at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championship.

Shkelqim Kukaj maintained a scoring average of 75.61, in this third year with the Spartans. The junior from Congers, NY had a first place finish at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania Browngolf Intercollegiate and finished in the top 10 in four total tournaments this season.

In his first season in Sparkill, Travis Fay was the Spartans top performer of the season with a scoring average of 74.43. The junior from Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia had a second place finish at the American International College Invitational. Travis finished in the top 10 in nine of eleven tournaments this season, which included a fifth place individual finish at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championship.  

Freshman Jake Yarmolowitz had a very impressive first season with the Spartans, as he ended the 2018-2019 campaign with a 74.35 scoring average. The Oldsmar, FL native had first place finishes at both the California University of Pennsylvania Vulcan Invitational and the Dominican College Charger Challenge. Jake finished in the top 10 in four total tournaments this season.

The 2018-2019 season was largely successful for St. Thomas Aquinas College, as the Spartans finished in the top 10 in ten of eleven events. STAC won both the California University of Pennsylvania Vulcan Invitational and Dominican College Charger Challenge, while finishing as the runner-up at the American International College Invitational, Indiana University of Pennsylvania Browngolf Invitational and the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen Spring Invitational. The season culminated with a fifth place team finish at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional Championship.
