STAC Golf Places Eighth at Columbia University Autumn Invitational

The St. Thomas Aquinas Golf team just wrapped up play at the Division I, Columbia University Autumn Invitational at Wiltwyck Country Club in Kingston, NY. During the first round of play the team managed to shoot a score of 301 behind a nice round of 74 from Jake Yarmolowitz. Senior Joe Tammaro and freshman Nolan Skaggs both carded rounds of 75, while Donte Groppuso shot a round of 77. Junior Norman Viron rounded out the team scoring with a round of 78. The Spartans sat in 9th place after the first round of play. 

During the final round of play, Donte Groppuso posted the low round of the season for the team, firing a stellar round of 67 (-5). Joe Tammaro posted another round of 75 while Jake Yarmolowitz carded a round of 78. Nolan Skaggs finished the event with a round of 79 while Norman Viron shot an 83. The team’s final round 299 was good enough to move the team up a spot to finish 8th place among the 12 Division I programs.
