Spartans Victorious at Dominican College Charger Challenge

Emerson, N.J. - The St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s Golf team battled the brutally cold and windy conditions on Tuesday to take first place in the Charger Challenge hosted by Dominican College. The team narrowly edged out the host team from Domincan after posting a team score of 298. With the first round cancelled because of extreme cold, the Spartans were led by Jake Yarmolowitz and Nolan Skaggs who both carded solid rounds of 74. Right behind them were Donte Groppuso and Joseph Tammaro who were able to post scores of 75. Rounding out the team scoring was newcomer Mario Mojarro who shot an 80. The Spartans team score of 298 was good for their first tournament victory of the season.

The team is back in action next week down in sunny Miami Beach, Florida at the Barry University Battle at the Shores.
