The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost at NYIT, 67-57. Ra'Shad James had 24 points for the Spartans while freshman Justin Brown added 15 points and 5 assits.
NYIT used a 15-5 run to close out the first half with a 38-25 lead. Dominic Scurry paced the Bears with 10 points in the first half going 4-5 from the floor.
James hit a three with 7:06 left in the game to bring STAC within nine, 59-50. NYIT's Kresimir Knez made a layup to extend their lead back to eleven. Brown scored a layup to cut the Bears lead into single digits but it was not enough as STAC could not get any closer then nine down the stretch.
NYIT held a 38-25 advantage on the boards. STAC will return to action on Wednesday as they host Molloy College.
