The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team dropped a 60-54 decision to visiting Wilmington University in last nights non-conference match up.  STAC received 14 points from both Ra'Shad James and Justin Brown.

Wilmington got off to a 17-6 jump on the Spartans in the opening minutes of play.  STAC rallied back behind 8 points from Brown and 5 from James and Jason Holloway, taking a one point lead with 4:47 left in the half.  Holloway finished with 10 points.

The Spartans held a three point lead at the break and were able to maintain their lead until Vernon Dupree made a layup to put Wilmington up 35-34 at the 17:13 minute mark.  Dupree finished with 10 points.  Johnson responded for STAC with a jumper of his own giving STAC their final lead of the game, 36-35.

Wilmington extended their lead to as many as nine, allowing STAC to get within four points on two occassions in the final two minutes of the game.  However, the Spartans could not close the gap as the Wildcats went 4-4 from the line to seal the victory.

STAC will be back in action as they host ECC opponent Queens College on Wednesday for a 7:30 game.
