The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to C.W. Post, 74-40. Ra'Shad James and Chad Williams had eight points for STAC. Williams added 4 steals and 3 rebounds while Justin Brown had a team high 8 rebounds.
The Spartans got off to a good start as James made his first two attempts of the game and then Vincent Johnson hit a jumper to tie the game at 6. Daniel Skinner hit a jumper to give STAC an 8-10 lead and Williams drained a three a few possessions later to put the Spartans ahead, 15-13. Jamie Blanchard added a layup with 6:58 left in the half to give STAC a 20-19 lead. The Pioneers closed the half on a 10-2 run to take a 29-22 lead into the break.
C.W. Post held STAC scoreless for the first five minutes of the second half as they opened the game to 40-22. Sean Weaver hit a jumper to break the scoring drought but the Spartans did not score their next field goal until the 8:09 mark. Nemanja Jokic had 16 points for the Pioneers while Jonathan Kohler added 14 points.
STAC will play its final regular season game at Bridgeport on Saturday at 3 PM.
