Spartans Drop Final Game at Bridgeport, 84-50

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team fell 84-50 at Bridgeport.  Freshman Justin Brown led STAC with 15 points and 6 rebounds for STAC.  Senior Vincent Johnson added 8 points and 5 boards for the Spartans. 

The Spartans got off to a 5-4 lead behind a 3-pointer from Johnson and two free throws from Ra'Shad James.  Bridgeport regained the lead with a jumper from Steve Martin that sparked a 7-0 run.  Dane Dixon scored a layup with 6:12 left in the half to bring STAC within three, 21-18.  The Purple Knights closed out the half on a 21-4 run to take a 42-23 lead into the break. 

Bridgeport continued to extend their lead in the second half behind a 12 point performance from Kirk Williams.  Martin along with Msoo Ikyaator each added nine for UB.  The Purple Knights outrebounded STAC, 35-27.

The Spartans finished their season with an overall record of 6-21 and 5-16 in ECC play.  Senior Linton Brown had 2 points and 2 rebounds while Chad Williams added 3 assists and 2 rebounds in their final games as STAC.
