Kansas City, Mo. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Basketball team has received, and accepted, an invitation to play in the 2024 Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic, as announced by Small College Basketball on Saturday.
The defending East Coast Conference Regular Season and Tournament champs (25-6) will head to Lakeland, Florida for a pair of games on November 2 and 3 at the Jenkins Fieldhouse on the campus of Florida Southern College. STAC will battle Southeast Region Champions and NCAA Division II Tournament Quarterfinalists, University of North Georgia (28-7), along with South Region Champions and NCAA Division II Championship Runner-up, Nova Southeastern University (32-3).
This is the third invitation to the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic for the maroon and gold, having previously played in the 2017 and 2021 editions.
For the third straight year the event will include 10 teams. The Hall of Fame Classic started in 2016 in Evansville, Indiana. After a stop in St. Joseph, Missouri, the Hall of Fame Classic moved to Lakeland, Florida in 2022. The event did not take place during the 2020 season.
