Spartans Rally to Force Overtime, Win Fifth Straight in Shootout Versus SUNY Maritime, 4-3

Patrick Burns tallied the shootout winner for the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans in a 4-3 victory over SUNY Maritime College on Sunday afternoon at Sport-O-Rama Ice Rinks.
 
Shaun Benson, Giancarlo DiLorenzo and Zachary Teats each scored a goal in regulation time, while goalie Carl Lorenz made 45 saves in net to push his record over the .500 mark on the season at 8-7, as STAC closed out the home portion of their 2018-2019 schedule.

St. Thomas Aquinas College (11-7) will close out their 2018-2019 regular season schedule with two road games. First, the Spartans take on Hofstra University on Friday, February 1 at the Northwell Health Ice Center at Eisenhower Park, with puck drop scheduled for 9:30pm. A week later on February 8, STAC will travel to Riverbank State Park in New York City for a 9pm match-up with Columbia University.
