The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team opened their inaugural season with a 20-1 loss at NYIT. The Spartans received their first goal from freshmen Nicholas Casuccio with 5:56 left in the game. Freshmen Ryan Mello recorded 20 saves in the game.   

The Bears had 58 shots to the young Spartan team's 12 shot.  STAC is in it's first season of competition with a roster of 13 freshmen, 1 sophomore and 2 juniors.  The Spartans will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Dowling for a 2:00 p.m. game.
