Moravian Tops Spartans, 8-3 in Men's Lacrosse

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team lost to Moravian College, 8-3 on Wednesday afternoon. Thomas Hollway scored two goals for the Spartans while Kevin Alovra added one.  

Moravian scored three goals in the first quarter to take an early lead over the Spartans.  Alvora scored with 2:11 left in the first half to put the Spartans on the scoreboard.  Hollway added the Spartans second goal off an assist from Charlton Phillips with 8:08 on the clock in the 3rd quarter.  

The host held a 7-2 lead after three quarters.  Each team added one more goal in the 4th with Hollway scored his second goal of the game off an assist from David Pearl with 1:03 remaining on the clock.  

Ryan Mello had 16 saves in the loss.  The Spartans will return to action on Friday when they travel to Farmingdale State for a 6:00 p.m. game.
