Men's Lacrosse Hosts UDC in 1st Home Game

The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's lacrosse team played their first ever home game on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Firebirds of UDC.  Thomas Hollaway had three goals for the Spartans and Kevin Alvora added two. 

UDC was in control of the first quarter, outscoring the Spartans 4-1.  Alvora scored STAC's first goal off an assist from Hollaway.  Brenton Mighty scored for the Spartans to open the second quarter bringing STAC within two, 4-2.  The Firebirds controlled the offense for the rest of the second and third quarters taking a 12-3 lead into the 4th quarter.  

The Spartans outscored the firebirds 4-1 in the final quarter with two goals from Hollaway.  David Pearl added a goal for the Spartans.   Alvora scored the final goal of the game as the Spartans fell, 13-7.  Ryan Mello had 13 saves for STAC.  

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday for a 3:00 game against Pace University.
