Spartans Fall to Golden Lions, 18-2

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team struggled on the road against Dowling College on Wednesday afternoon.  The Golden Lions were selected 4th in the highly competitive ECC.  Thomas Hollaway and David Pearl each scored for the Spartans.  

Hollaway scored in the second quarter off an assist from Luke Madry to make the score 7-1, in favor of Dowling.  Pearl's goal was unassisted with a little over four minutes left in the game.  Scott Reece had six goals and one assist for Dowling.  

Ryan Mello had ten saves in the loss.  The Spartans will return to action on Wednesday, March 2nd when the travel to LIU Post.  The Pioneers finished last season, 14-3 and 8-0 in the ECC, earning them the #1 ranking in this years pre season poll.
