Spartans Struggle At St. Joe's, Falling 12-6

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse lost at St. Joseph's (L.I.) on Tuesday evening.  Briele Caples and Joseph Nyemchek each scored two goals for the Spartans.  

The Golden Eagles got off to a strong start scoring four first quarter goals and holding the Spartans to just four shots.  Jack Murray scored two of the host first four goals.  The Spartans got on the scoreboard in the second quarter with goals from Thomas Hollway and Caples, sandwiched between two more St. Joseph's goals.  

The host stayed in control through the 3rd quarter, adding four more goals and holding the Spartans to just four shots again. STAC outscored St. Joe's 4-to-2 in the 4th quarter behind the strong offensive play of Caples; two assists and one goal, during the stretch.  Tyler Senatore added a goal along with two from Nyemchek.  The Spartans connected on four of their thirteen shots in the final quarter.  

Ryan Mello had nine saves for the Spartans.  STAC will return to action on Saturday when they host Roberts Weslyan College at 1:00 p.m.
