Spartans Drop Road Game at Wilmington, 11-4

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team fell to Wilmington University, 11-4. Paul Rhodes scored two goals for the Spartans.

Rhodes scored off an assist from Brenton Mighty in the first quarter but the Spartans trailed 4-1.  The second quarter saw the visitors held scoreless as Wilmington added two more goals to take a 6-1 lead into the break.  The Wildcats opened the third quarter with back to back goals before Joseph Nyemchek scored for the Spartans.  

Rhodes struck again to start the 4th quarter off an assist from Briele Caples.  Kevin Alvora scored off an assist from Mighty giving the Spartans their final goal of the game.  Wilmington held a 44-21 advantage in shots over the Spartans.  Ryan Mello had sixteen saves in goal for the Spartans.

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday when they host Georgian Court for a 1:00 p.m. game.
