Spartans Win Home Opener, 13-6 Against American International

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team won their 2018 Spring home opener against American International College, 13-6. Briele Caples scored 5 goals and added 1 assist in the win. Ryan Mello had 11 saves in goal for the Spartans.

The Spartans fell behind early as the visitors opener up a 2-0 lead before Tyler Senatore put the Spartans on the scoreboard for the first time this season.  Christopher Howell and Dewrail Rockett each added first quarter goals for the Spartans to tie things up at 3-apiece.  Both squads exchanged two more goals each in the second quarter with Paul Rhodes and Caples each scoring and the game was tied 5-5 at the half.  

The second half belonged to the Spartans as they outscored the guest 8-1 with Caples adding two goals in both the third and fourth quarters.  Joseph Nyemchek and Senatore also added a goal in each quarter to secure the win for the Spartans.  Caesar Quinn and Jack McIntyre each score two goals for the Yellow Jackets.
