Spartans Beat Cross Town Rival Dominican College, 13-4

The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's Lacrosse team beat cross town rival Dominican College, 13-4. 

The Spartans fell behind early, as Dominican scored the first two goals of the game.  Dewrail Rockett, Jr. scored in the final seconds of the first quarter off an assist from Kevin Alvora to bring STAC to within one, 2-1.

The Spartans scored the next five goals all coming in the 2nd quarter.  Paul Rhodes socred off an assist from Brenton Mighty at the 12:34 mark.  The Spartans rattled off four quick goals within a span of four minutes; starting with Rockett's second goal of the game off an assist from Tyler Senatore.  Joseph Nyemchek scored and Senatore added back to back goals to put the Spartans ahead 6-2.  

STAC took a 6-2 lead into the break with a 16-14 shots advantage over the Chargers.  The Spartans continued their attack to open the 3rd quarter scoring seven consecutive goals.  Senatore added his third goal while Briele Caples and Alvora each scored two and Rhodes and Rockett chipped in additional goals.  The Chargers scored to close out the quarter 13-3.  

Dominican's Chris Heegan scored his third goal of the game to open the 4th quarter action, but that's as close as it would get.  The Spartans held a 43-25 shots advantage over the Chargers.  Ryan Mello recorded 7 saves in goal picking up the win. 

The Spartans will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to conference opponent Mercy College for a 3:00 p.m. game.
