Spartans Drop Final Game At Hampton, 11-7

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team lost to Hampton University, 11-7 on Saturday afternoon. Tyler Senatore scored four goals for the Spartans while Brenton Mighty added two goals and one assist.

Senatore scored two first quarter goals; assited by Briele Caples and Dewrail Rockett, Jr. but the Spartans trailed 4-2.  Senatore scored his third goal in the second quarter and the Spartans trailed 6-3 at the break.  Mighty tallied two third quarter goals one assisted by Caples but the Spartans were unable to closed the gap as Hampton chipped in three more goals.  

Thomas Hollway scored in the fourth quarter along with Senatores final goal as the Spartans fell to the home team, 11-7.  Elliott Johnson and Derian Willaims-Stur each scored three goals to lead Hampton.  

The Spartans held a strong 43-24 shots advantage but not capitalize enough.  Ryan Mello had five saves for the Spartans while the Hampton goalies collectively recorded seventeen saves.  

STAC finishes their third season at 5-10 overall, including a conference win over UDC.
