Spartans Pick Up Second Consecutive Win with 11-9 Victory at UDC

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team beat UDC 11-9 on Saturday Afternoon. Brenton Mighty and Tyler Senatore scored two goals a piece for the Spartans. Ryan Mello recorded twenty saves in the win.

The Firebirds opened the game with a 2-0 start in the first quarter.  The Spartans were able to tie things up by the break with three different goal scorers; Christopher Howell, Luke Broderick and Tyler Senatore.  

Mighty gave the Spartans their first lead, scoring the opening goal of the third quarter.  STAC outscored UDC 5-2 in the 3rd quarter to take an 8-5 lead.  The Firebirds got the best of the Spartans in the fourth, outscoring them 4-3 but it was not enough as the Spartans edged the home squad, 11-9.  Anthony Irizarry, Bodhi Gallo and Mighty each added fourth quarter goals to pace the Spartans to victory.  

UDC outshot the Spartans 49-17 on their home turf.  STAC will return to home for their next contest; Wednesday 4:00 p.m. against Post University from CT.
