Men's Lacrosse Drops Season Opener at Chestnut Hill, 18-8

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's lacrosse team lost to Chestnut Hill, PA 18-8 on Tuesday afternoon. Tyler Senatore scored four goals and added one assist to lead the way for STAC.

The Griffins got off to a strong start netting the first four goals of the game before Thomas Chiapperino put the Spartans on the score board.  Both teams added a pair of goals to finish off the first quarter with the home team ahead 7-3.  Senatore scored two of his four goals in the first quarter while Peter Johnson added an assist.  

Chestnut Hill scored the first three goals of the second quarter to extend their lead.  Jason Beddows scored for the Spartans off an assist from James Johnson and Chipperino added his second goal of the game.  The Griffins dominated the third quarter scoring eight striaght goals before Peter Johnson scored his first goal for the Spartans.  

Senatore added two fourth quarter goals to round out all scorers for the Spartans.  Ryan Guild recorded 18 saves but took the loss in goal for STAC while Giorgio D'Angelo also shared minutes in goal and recorded 3 saves.  

The Spartans will host Caldwell Saturday morning at 11:00 am for the home opener.
