Spartans Fall, 1-0 to Top Ranked C.W. Post

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team lost, 1-0 to C.W. Post on Saturday afternoon.  The Pioneers scored in the final ten minutes of the game to remain undefeated and at the top of the ECC.  Andrew Tartara had 2 saves for STAC.  The Spartans had 3 shots on goal, two from Joseph Connolly and one from Dan Davren.

It was a defensive battle on both ends as the two nationally ranked teams went head to head.  The Pioneers ranked 6th in the country were able to edge the 17th ranked Spartans as Cemil Turan beat a Spartan defender and scored a shot to the upper right corner at the 82:22 mark. 

This was the first loss the Spartans have suffered all season, moving them to 6-1-4.  Marco Jorgensen had 3 saves for C.W. Post.  The Spartans will look to rebound as they travel to Lock Haven for a 2:00 game on Monday.
