Men's Soccer Absorbs 4-0 Defeat at Holy Family

The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's soccer team fell to a 4-0 defeat in a non-conference contest at Holy Family University. The Spartans now stand at 0-3 on the season while Holy Family improves to 2-0.

Holy Family was able to break through for the only goal of the first half as Joel Richmond put a shot into the corner of the net in the fifth minute. While STAC had chances after the break, Richmond's second of the game gave the hosts a 2-0 edge at 55:23. The Spartans pressed but still couldn't break through as Dakota Taylor scored at 72:17 and Gilbert Anokye closed out the scoring at 83:53. Cameron Turner started and took the loss in net for St. Thomas Aquinas.

The Spartans play nine of their final 13 games on home turf, starting with the next two in a row. The College of Staten Island visits for the home opener on Monday, September 16 at 3:00 pm before STAC kicks off the East Coast Conference season by hosting the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, September 21.
