Win Streak Snapped as Men's Soccer Falls to West Chester, 3-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's soccer team fell to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of West Chester University at Spartan Field. The Spartans are now 3-10-1 on the season with West Chester improving to 11-3-1.

After winning their previous three games in a row - all by shutout - the Spartans found themselves in a hole midway through the first half when Shane Hartey converted on a rebound at 24:48. That score held through halftime but STAC had trouble creating offense, being outshot by a 7-2 margin. The Rams netted a pair in quick succession to put the game away, as Hartey posted his second of the night at 74:38, and Nick Jachwak rounded out the scoring on a penalty kick at 79:50.

Cameron Turner amassed eight saves on the afternoon though his string of clean sheets was snapped, as St. Thomas Aquinas was outshot by a 16-5 overall margin.

The Spartans return to action this Saturday, November 2, hosting Nyack College in a Senior Day matinee with a 1:00 pm start at Spartan Field. They wrap up the season one week later, hosting Daemen College in an East Coast Conference battle on Saturday, November 9.
