Spartans' Ferragut-Lluch, Voigt Sweep ECC Men's Tennis Weekly Awards

St. Thomas Aquinas College tennis players Andreu Ferragut-Lluch and Paul Voigt were named the East Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player and Rookie of the Week respectively on Monday, following the Spartans' Western New York sweep of both Roberts Wesleyan and Daemen College this past weekend.

Ferragut-Lluch went 2-0 in both singles and doubles at the No. 3 position to help the Spartans to a pair of ECC wins. In singles play, he picked up a 6-0, 6-0 win over Andrew Freeman of Roberts Wesleyan and a 6-4, 6-3 win over Daemen's Tim Georg. In addition, Andreu became the first STAC Men's Tennis athlete to pick-up his 100th career victory on the courts.

In a pair of St. Thomas Aquinas ECC victories, Voigt went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles. In singles action, he beat Robert Wesleyan's Dennis Barlott (6- 1, 6-4) and Daemen's Fabian Wilde (7-5, 5-6, 10-8). He also picked up an 8-6 doubles win in the victory over Daemen. 

The 9-3 Spartans travel to Post University (CT) for non-conference action on Tuesday, March 26th, beginning at 3pm.
