Spartans Drop Close Match at Sciences, 4-3

The St. Thomas Aquinas men's tennis team lost to the University of Sciences, 4-3 on Tuesday afternoon.  Luke Taplin won in both doubles and singles for the Spartans.  

The Spartans won two out of three doubles matches to earn their team a point as Paul Voigt and Enej Hasicevic paired up for a 6-2 win.  Gijs Offringa and Luke Taplin won 6-1 in the third flight doubles.  Marcel Volz won his 8th consecutive singles match and imporves to 2-1 against regionally ranked opponents.  Volz defeated Borna Markusic 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.  Taplin won 6-2, 6-1 in the 6th flight singles.

The Spartans will return to action on Thursday as they host Concordia at 3:00 p.m.
