Men's Tennis Suffers 4-3 Setback at Chestnut Hill

Philadelphia, Pa. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team suffered a 4-3 setback to Chestnut Hill College on Monday in non-conference action.

The Griffins took two of three doubles matches to earn their first team point. The lone Spartan victory came via the pair of Ivan Laiz and Julius Upel, who won 6-4 at No. 3.

Chestnut Hill went up 2-0 on an early singles match victory, before Ludovico Truffelli scored a 6-4, 6-4 triumph at the No. 3 position. The hosts then took a commanding 3-1 advantage, but Eduard Simo's 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 4 kept STAC alive in the contest. However, it would be short lived, as the Griffins closed out the match with a 6-4, 6-1 advantage in the No. 5 spot. Ivan Laiz finished the day with a 6-0, 6-1 victory for the Spartans at the No. 6 position.
