Spartans Fall at Molloy College
Molloy pitchers Jenna Turato and Courtney Greene helped Molloy College slow down the hot hitting of St. Thomas Aquinas College and register 2-0 and 7-1 wins in an ECC doubleheader today in Rockville Center. The victories lifted Molloy's ECC record to 8-2 and 20-12 overall while STAC fell to 3-5 and 8-18 overall.

"Molloy is traditionally one of the top teams in the ECC and I thought we played very competitively today," said Kristen Sullivan, the STAC head coach. "Colleen (Borum) pitched well in the first game and I thought we made a few mistakes in the second game that decided the game."

Turato allowed only two hits, struck out six and took a perfect game into the sixth inning. The Lions scratched across two runs in the fourth inning that Turato made stand up.

In the second game, the Lady Spartans mounted a rally in the fifth inning on Elise Oliande's RBI double. The Lions then broke open the game with four runs in the fifth inning.

STAC travels to Bridgeport University on Tuesday for an ECC twin-bill that begins at 2:30 pm.
