St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball player Sarah Clancy was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, for a second straight week and third time this season, on Monday following the Spartans 5-3 week on the diamond, with wins over Post, Queens, Staten Island and Molloy last week.
Clancy (Chino Hills, Calif.) posted a record of 4-0 in seven appearances (four starts), to help the Spartans go 5-3 on the week, while tallying a 0.83 ERA with 30 total strikeouts over 33.2 innings pitched. The senior lefty pitched shutouts against both Post and Molloy.
STAC (29-21, 16-4 ECC) opens the East Coast Conference Softball Tournament, facing Queens College, on Thursday, May 2 at the RVC Sports Complex in Rockville Centre, New York. First pitch between the Spartans and Knights is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
