St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball player Sarah Clancy was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday, following the Spartans 4-2 week on the diamond, with sweeps over the University of New Haven and the College of Staten Island last week.
Clancy (Chino Hills, Calif.) went 2-1 on the week with a save for the maroon and gold, posting a 2.67 ERA in 21 innings pitched with 19 total strikeouts. The senior lefty recorded 10 strikeouts in a 7-3 win over the Dolphins and notched a save in a 4-2 win over the Chargers. Clancy now leads the ECC in saves with three on the season.
STAC (18-16, 7-1 ECC) next hosts Pace University on Wednesday (April 10) in a non-conference twin bill scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. at Spartan Field in Sparkill.
