St. Thomas Aquinas College Selected to Host 2018 CSFL Championship

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that the Collegiate Sprint Football League has selected STAC to host the 2018 CSFL Championship Game.

The title game, which will take place at the Spartans home field, the Torne Valley Sports Complex in Hillburn, N.Y., is scheduled for this Saturday, November 10th at 6 p.m. This year's CSFL Championship match-up will feature the Army West Point Black Knights (6-0, 3-0 CSFL/North Division Champions) and the Navy Midshipmen (6-1, 4-0 CSFL/South Division Champions).

Army comes into this season's contest as the defending CSFL Champions and is looking to go back-to-back, while Navy is seeking their first league title since 2014. In their regular season match-up on September 21st, the Black Knights squeaked by the Midshipmen, 17-14 on a Seppi Ortman 17-yard field goal with just under five minutes to play in the fourth quarter at Annapolis, Maryland.

In the all-time history of Sprint Football (since 1934) and its various leagues, including; The Eastern 150-pound Football League (1934-1966), The Eastern Lightweight Football League (1967-1997) and the current Collegiate Sprint Football League (1998–present), Navy leads the way with 28 championships, while Army follows close behind with 23 titles.

Admission to the CSFL Championship game is $10 per person, and if you cannot make it to Torne Valley on Saturday evening to see this historic championship match-up between our nation's military academies, you can follow all of the action LIVE on the Spartan Sports Network.
